The “Good Old” Way: Vector Maps
- Lines leave (+) charges; return to (-) charges (charges = sources)
- Number of lines leaving/entering charge ? amount of charge
- Tangent of line = direction of E
- Local density of lines ? local magnitude of E
- field at two white dots: differ by factor of 4, since r differs by 2
- local density of field lines differs by 4 as well
