Assignment 7

ASSIGNMENT:

• The Exam will be given using the "Quizzes" tab on the Corbra Learing website. You will need to download the Respondus Lockdown browser. You will also need a laptop with a webcam, a quiet environment and a reliable internet connection. You may not have access to another computer, cell phone or Ipad/tablet device during the exam. You have 2hrs for the exam. Make sure to have a printed or written equation sheet, calculator and scratch paper ready before you begin. You are allowed 1 sheet of paper's worth (1 side of standard 8.5x11") of equations/notes for the exam. While it is tempting to put a lot of information on your equation page, you will find that you will run out of time if you have to spend a lot of time searching for things on your equation sheet. It is best to have a complete set of equations organized in a way that you can easily access and maybe a few hints to remind you of areas that you often get confused. Before attempting the first exam you will need to watch a brief 6min video that explains what we expect your webcam to capture during the entire exam. Please alow extra time to watch this video or alternatively you can watch the video well in advance of the when you plan on taking the exam so you can access the exam directly when you are ready to take it.
• The best way to prepare for the exam is by DOING problems, don't "study" your notes or look over example problems, it will not help. You need to work out the solution to problems just like you will be doing during the exam, which means having no notes or help, just a calculator and equation sheet. You will be allowed two attempts on the exam. The exam problems are taken from a very large pool of questions, so you will probably not get the same questions on your second attempt as your first attempt, but you should pay attention to the type and topic of questions that you struggle with on your first attempt and spend more time solving those type of questions before your second attempt.
